1. What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is used tiny needles inserted into to the surface of the body in specific points, to regulate the "qi" (energy/life force) flowing in meridians, to help the body restore balance to promote natural healing

2. Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is very safe if it is performed by a well-trained practitioner like Dr Fan. Serious side effects are very rare, occurring in less than one in100,000 treatments.

3. Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are extremely tiny typically 25-50 times thinner than hypodermic needles used by physicians. As a needles is inserted, it may feel like a "mosquito bite", but most people feel no pain at all.

4. Are there any side effects?

For most people acupuncture treatment results in a sense of wellness and often cessation of symptoms.

Other general side effects can manifest as changes in the appetite, sleep patterns, bowel/urination patterns, or even emotional release. Occasionally the original symptoms may worsen for a short period of time. This is a good sign, indicating the body renewing flow of Qi (energy). Very rarely, a patient may experience dizziness, nausea, sweating or faintness during a treatment. If you feel any of these discomforts, please tell Dr.Fan immediately: he will, adjust the needles to make you comfortable.

If you are in pregnant, some acupuncture points are not suitable for you. Please inform Dr.Fan before your treatment to help him to avoid those points.

Dr. Fan uses needles that are sterile, pre-packaged, single-use, and disposable .

Definitely, No.

For example, acupuncture is successfully used on dogs, cats, and race horses. These animal patients do not understand or believe in acupuncture yet, it helps them to get better.

7. How many treatments I will be need?

Generally speaking: For most patients 2-5 sessions is satisfying.

8. How should I prepare for a treatment?

Have a light meal two or more hours before a treatment.

All new patients have an initial examination where the patient's condition and medical hstory are discussed. This can last 20 minutes or more.

Before an initial examination, you will be asked to complete a medical history questionnaire.

Please provide all information about your health conditions, including medications or supplements you take, any recent  laboratory test results, X-rays, MRI reports, etc.

It is very important for Dr. Fan to understand the whole picture about your health; this can help get to the root of your health problems and achieve the best result for you.

Based on the examination, a course of treatment is recommended.
